My goal is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and in control from the moment you sit behind the wheel. Electric Automatic Cars
Learning to drive in an electric car is very similar to learning in a standard automatic car. The main difference is that the EV is powered by electricity, instead of petrol or diesel.
If you have decided to learn automatic, or driven a different automatic car you will find the EV similar to drive but more pleasing. You have the same two pedals (footbrake and accelerator), and a selector for Drive and Reverse gears as well as Neutral and Park.
Some of the additional benefits you may notice while driving EV, are as follows:
– Smoother acceleration and braking – there are no actual gears in an EV. The power is instantly available as there is no fuel to burn or complex transmission. EV’s also use regenerative braking to slow down which means braking is smoother.
– Very quiet while running – some students have commented that the lack of engine noise and vibrations contribute to a calmer learning experience. This can be helpful especially for anxious learners
– Zero emissions at point of use – better for the environment and health.
– Due to the highly reduced number of moving parts, there is a lower risk of mechanical failure.
All students who previously learnt in a petrol/diesel automatic have found the transition to our electric cars to be very simple, and most have preferred it mainly due to the calmer driving experience. You will however have no problem practising in or driving a standard automatic after learning in an EV.
More and more EV’s are becoming available and so you may be ahead of others in using and understanding how electric cars work

Instructor Responsibilities and Terms & Conditions
As a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and enhanced DBS-checked professional, I have a duty of care to ensure pupils are safe throughout their driving lessons.
Responsibilities include:
Maintaining professional boundaries at all times.
Treating all pupils with respect and fairness.
Creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment for learning.
Ensuring lessons take place in safe and suitable locations.
Reporting any safeguarding concerns or disclosures appropriately.
Never engaging in or tolerating any form of abuse, bullying, harassment, or discrimination.
Avoiding any inappropriate communication or relationships with pupils.
Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between At(“the Instructor”) and the Pupil (“the Student”) for the provision of driving tuition. By booking and taking lessons, you agree to the following terms.
1.Payment and Bookings
All lessons must be paid at least 48 hours in advance via bank transfer unless agreed with instructor prior to lesson. Payment in advance ensures transparency and accurate accounting records. Lessons are only confirmed once payment has been received. Intensive courses need to be paid in full 10 working days before the course start date. This ensures any cancellations can be offered to other clients.
2.Cancellations and Rescheduling
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full. If the Instructor needs to cancel a lesson (e.g., due to illness, vehicle issues, or unsafe weather conditions), as much notice as possible will be given and an alternative date/time will be arranged. Intensive courses require 10 days notice to cancel so alternative clients can fill the slot.
3.Pupil Requirements
Pupils must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence, be fit to drive (not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any medication that may impair driving ability), and be able to read a number plate from 20 metres (with glasses or contact lenses if normally worn).
The Instructor reserves the right to terminate a lesson if the pupil is unfit or unsafe to drive.
The lesson fee will be forfeited in such cases.
4.Lesson Conduct
The Instructor reserves the right to refuse or stop a lesson if the pupil behaves in a way that is unsafe, disrespectful, or causes risk to others or property. Pupils are expected to follow instructions and maintain a polite and professional attitude during lessons.
5.Vehicle and Insurance
The Instructor’s car is fully insured for driving tuition purposes. The Instructor will ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and maintained to a safe standard.
6.Driving Tests
When using the Instructor’s car for a driving test, it will be subject to the Instructor’s approval. Test day fees must be paid in advance and include time for a pre-test warm-up and the test itself. The Instructor reserves the right to withdraw the use of the car for test purposes if the pupil is not at the required standard.
7.Refund Policy
Refunds are only available in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Instructor. Prepaid lessons not used within six months may be forfeited. If the Instructor cancels a lesson and cannot offer a suitable replacement, a full refund will be issued for that lesson.
8.Weather Cancellations
If lessons or tests are affected by severe weather conditions (e.g., ice, snow, fog), the Instructor will assess whether it is safe to proceed. If cancelled for safety reasons, lessons will be rescheduled at no cost to the pupil. Pupils are encouraged to check with the Instructor on the morning of their lesson if conditions are poor.
9.GDPR and Data Protection Policy
Autotuition collects and stores only essential personal data (such as name, contact details, and licence information) for lesson management and communication purposes. Data will not be shared with third parties except where required by law. All data is stored securely in accordance with GDPR. Pupils may request access to, correction, or deletion of their data at any time.
10.Limitation of Liability
Autotuition and its instructors will not be held responsible for any losses, injury, or damage caused by a pupil’s failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions. While every effort is made to ensure progress, lesson outcomes and test passes cannot be guaranteed.
11.Amendments
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on the website. By booking lessons, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
